Henry Clausen

I am a PhD-graduate from the University of Edinburgh. I work as a data scientist for Cloudflare where I build API security systems, and my areas of interest include deep learning, data science, as well as vulnerability and intrusion detection. In my freetime, I like to challenge myself physically in sports such as Jiu-Jitsu, sailing, or running. My passion is electronic music, where I attempt to find my own style.

Personal interests

Activism

Since I was a young boy, I have been interested in nature, the intricate balance of ecosystems, and the effect that my actions have on it. Today, the state of our planet and the developments in our society towards environmental protection frighten me and driven me to be an environmental activist.

I am currently leading and coordinating the local Greenpeace group in Edinburgh, where campaign on issues such as climate change, ocean and forest protection, or biodiversity conservation.

Music

Music is my passion, and I could not live without it. I enjoy playing piano, and even though I believe my technique stopped progressing years ago, I still find joy in learning to play pieces such as currently Claude Debussy’s Claire de Lune.

I am very active in the production of electronic music, where I have shared the stage with peeps such as Sam Feldt or Diego Krause. If you want to hear more, check out my SoundCloud-Page.

Sports

I am a very active person and depend on physical activity to balance my senses. I grew up in a sailing family and tremendously enjoy being on the water. Besides that, I exhaust and enjoy myself during Jiu-Jitsu training and on my own while running or weightlifting.
